Arbanasi is situated on a high plateau, 4 km. from Veliko Tarnovo away. The greatest tourist attraction in this village is the unique architecture (houses and churches) dating from the Bulgarian national revival - 16th-17th century. The houses impress with their austere external architecture with solid stone walls. There are 5 churches and 2 monasteries in the village of Arbanassi. It is proclaimed an architectural reserve and is included in the UNESCO's world heritage list of valuable cultural sites.
