<p><font face="Arial">Guesthouse "Kandaferi" is in the village of Miikovtsi, 13km away from the town of Elena (in the middle of Stara Planina mountain).</font></p><p><font face="Arial">There are lots of small hamlets scattered all over the area. One of the most attractive places is Miikovtsi. The mayorality of Miikovtsi is part of the Elena region municipality. It consists of 2 villages - Miikovtsi, Ignatovtsi and four hamlets - Gorni Tanchevtsi, Tupuzi, Visokovtsi, Ralinovci. There are two more hamlets which are later included. Duhlevtsi becomes part of Miikovtsi and Atlartsi is no longer in the lists of settlements because there are no people left there.</font></p><p><font face="Arial">The hamlets are huddled together in a beautiful valley at the foot of Chumerna peak (1536 m). The total number of the inhabitants is 90 people, who make their living by farming, cattle breeding and logging (timber industry).</font></p><p><font face="Arial">The village of Miikovtsi is founded about 13th century. According to the legends it was set up by a settler called Miiko who came from the town of Veliko Turnovo. The village was named after him.</font></p><p><font face="Arial">The village is surrounded by small and high hills. There is a majority of small streams coming from the heart of the Balkans. The place has specific climate, influenced by the Aegean so there are excellent conditions to rest. </font></p><p><font face="Arial">The summer is sunny and cool and the winter is soft and snowy. In summer the rivers are excellent for swimming and the glades nearby are favourable for camping.</font></p><p><font face="Arial">There are also many places for one-day hikes (picknicks). There are fruits like strawberries, blackberries, raspberries; mushrooms and various useful herbs growing in the meadows. The hills around the village not only offer a pictoresque view but also protect the place from unfavourable atmospheric conditions. </font></p><p><font face="Arial">The road from Elena to Miikovtsi is practicable all the year round.</font></p><p><font face="Arial">A lot of tourists come to Elena region because of the beautiful countryside and a comfortable house in the mountain is indeed an advantage and convenience.
