The relief of the region varies largely. The topography of the terrain has the characteristics of highlands with hills and low mountain ranges, altitude s above sea level ranging between 100 and 300 m. The highest peak is Vishegrad – 856 m above sea level. In the southern part are stretching the ridges of the Sakar mountain.

Water resources: Tundja river is the main water artery of the territory. The other rivers are the tributaries of the Tundja – Ustremska and Sinapovska rivers and the Sokolitza river in the west of the municipal territory.

Climate: The SAKAR hotel is situated in a region with a climate affected by the influence of the Mediterranian sea, which provides for a reasonably mild winter weather. Spring begins early in the year, about the middle of March. The weather in autumn is warmer than in springtime. And throughout the year 266 days out of 365 have temperatures higher than 5є Celsius. Average annual rainfalls are low – 500-600 mm/sq. m, compared to the average 672 mm/sq. m for the country, and are unevenly distributed in the seasons.
